For me, it was a primal, all-consuming need to sew. I mean, I’d had a sewing machine for about a decade. My husband, long before we’d considered kids or even marriage, had purchased one as a long-shot gift, one that seemed a bit off-target in the moment. I knew little to nothing about sewing, and certainly hadn’t sewn anything since 7th grade home-ec. Ten years later, after the arrival of our daug
hter, motherhood brought on some basic drive to sew. Today, our home is littered with homemade headbands, holiday-themed matching jammies and waaay over-the-top Halloween costumes. The kids were and are my inspiration, and they’re my two little badgers – fitting as we’re proud Wisconsinites and UW Badger alumni. Little Badger Stitchery currently features matching parent and child aprons because I love cooking and baking with my kids. I'm thankful now for that seemingly odd Christmas gift, and I hope you and your little badgers cherish these handcrafted goods, made with love.
