Trivia Time Answer!

How many hours does it take to fill the Madison Swimming Pool?

If the pool were filled using only the fire hydrants, it would take approximately 23 hours.

For comparison, using only a standard water hose would take about 122 hours (more than 5 days!).

In reality, the City uses a combination of hydrants during the day and hoses in the evenings, so the actual fill time falls somewhere in between.

Our parking lot is currently taking a little makeover break while work is being done on the basketball and tennis and pickleball courts. 🚧

Good news: You can still make a splash—just park along the east or west sides of Evergreen Avenue! 🚗

The City has been hard at work sweeping streets with our new equipment, and thanks to city staff efforts, Madison’s streets are looking great!

We do have a reminder for residents that makes a big difference: PLEASE AVOID blowing or mowing grass clippings into the street.

Why it matters:
• Grass clippings can create slippery conditions for cars, motorcycles, bicycles, and pedestrians.
• Clippings can wash into storm drains and contribute to clogging issues.
• Even well-kept lawns can make neighborhoods look messy when clippings collect along curbs and streets.

A quick cleanup after mowing helps keep our streets safe, clean, and looking their best for everyone. Thank you for your help in keeping Madison looking great!

💡 Trivia Answer Revealed!
Thank you to everyone who threw out their best guesses in our latest Trivia Time Question - How many Street Lights are there in Madison?! We had a couple really close answers - Lisa Nelson and Chad Bissett both guessed 365.

The correct answer is: there are a total of 368 Street Lights Madison! It costs approximately $804.30 each month to power those lights and keep our streets safer and brighter year-round. Street lights are one of those things that we don't often think about until they aren't working-right?!
