Having a place to immediately drop your keys/bags and store your shoes and jackets is such a game changer! Not only do I focus on kitchen and bathroom remodels, but entryways and laundry rooms are also part of my scope. These rooms are so important when planning for an organized zone, especially for young families, pets, and the daily wild ride that our lives can have!

I am so grateful that I get to create spaces where people gather around, live, and connect. Islands are one of those pieces of furniture that we gravitate towards and make memories, even on the most uninteresting days.

I remember growing up with an island that my grandfather built for our kitchen. It was also poised perfectly in the sun, and on cold winter days, that is where everyone sat to catch the rays.

I have so many memories sitting around that island, from doing school work, baking cookies, coloring as a child, or eating grilled cheese. Nothing exciting happened, just ordinary life. Yet, it was so special and it still brings warm feelings to my heart when I think about it.

Coming from a social work background, I spent a lot of time on the road and visited many different homes when meeting with clients. It was at that time that, I realized how much we rely on our environment to meet our physical and emotional needs. We crave for moments of connection, fun, slowness, and rejuvenation. I believe our homes should support us through the many roller coasters of life and stages.

I love envisioning how my clients will use the space and creating something that elicits the feeling of joy, connection, and restoration.

Taking in some self care this season! My self care looks like journaling, holding coffee (with both hands) by the fire, or taking a shower alone without a toddler 😆

Designing a beautiful bathroom or kitchen is like a playground for me. But, what’s even more magical, is when I get to design around a self care routine for my client. Icing on the cake!

From gorgeous bathtubs, tiled showers, coffee/drink stations, built in cabinetry for that cozy reading nook... there are so many opportunities to make your day feel grounded when you have a self care moment built into the design.

How do you make a brand new kitchen feel warm and classic, as if it’s been there for years?

Here’s what we did:
We mixed old with new for this small kitchen reno. We paired the white base cabinets with an antique wall glazed cabinet.

The white retro refrigerator brings in a vintage vibe and compliments the white cabinets.

Lastly, we put on the finishing touches by mixing modern decor with antiques for a curated and lived-in look.

My first introduction to interior design: magazines :) It feels like I am coming home again by returning to print, after becoming a bit desensitized on IG and Pinterest (both great resources, but over stimulating at times).

For this kitchen design, it was requested that we repurpose the range from the previous kitchen. Not going to lie, I felt a good amount of resistance to this idea. I wanted to bring in something new and modern… however, that wasn’t an option for this particular project.

Knowing what I had to work with, I brought in a white vent hood to match the range and tied in handmade clay tile to give it an old world feel. The rest of it came together a lot easier with warm wood cabinets and brass accents. I actually fell in love with it after it was all said and done.

I guess sometimes it’s better when we don’t have our way. It pushes me to find a solution that I would not have otherwise thought of. 🤍

It was fun styling this coffee nook and entryway back in 2020… but guess what?? She’s comin’ down!! We’re starting over with a full kitchen remodel for my lovely friend and it’s going to be the most dreamy European-English Cottage-but American farmhouse you ever did see.

This family is so so sweet and my heart feels full that I get to help them design the kitchen they’ve been waiting 6 years for! We’re starting January so stay tuned…

I love making a space that is functional AND special. And it’s absolutely possible (if not necessary) to have both! That’s why having a designer on your team is going to make a huge transformation, because we can do function really well, but make it pretty. Let me reiterate. Make it pretty folks!! 😍

We get so caught up in the unnecessary ‘busy life’ and chaos when our homes are not representative of who we are, or who we strive to be. I love to work with clients by encouraging them to slow down through thoughtful design and create areas of the home that elicit positive experiences, wellness, and connection. We spend most of our time getting ready in the bathroom, and gathering in the kitchen. I’m a mom, a business owner, and a life partner. I need my home to reflect my lifestyle and to lift me up, not bring me down. Invest in your home and you will see dramatic changes across the board in your life. Kitchens are my true love when it comes to design and I think that’s because we spend so much time in this communal space. We gather, we eat, cook, share, bicker, laugh, cry 😭.

The kitchen is where my little guy learned to walk and now hangs on my legs while I prepare his food. I know this space will continue to hold more memories along the way. The kitchen truly has to support our functional needs, but also our emotional needs.

That’s why I love designing kitchens because they hold so much possibility and personality. (And if a client gives me free range to do ‘whatever’… it’s glorious).

Tip: design your kitchen around your needs. Think about spacial awareness, flow, how you move, do you have one or two cooks, where do you like to eat, gather? Do you prefer to be a part of the party or cook with some privacy? Be intentional. It makes a huge difference.
