On this day 3 years ago I began the journey that has been rewarding and definitely a valuable learning experience. When I say it has been rewarding, it has little to do with the monetary value, but more with the fulfillment that I feel in doing what I truly love. This journey truly began over 25 years ago with a love for flower gardening and crafting. As a child, I grew up watching my father who was a contractor and owner of Gardner Construction Co. Inc and admired his ambition. I was truly inspired. I see the same level of ambition now as an adult in my husband who is also a contractor and the owner of TF Construction. No matter the challenges that came in the business, my father pushed on! The legacy that he left remains today in my heart and oftentimes motivates me to keep it going. Almost a month before he passed away in 2022, I discussed my desire to open a small business in floral design along with my full-time job as a speech therapist. I could see his eyes light up as he gave me a nod of approval. I struggled with the thought over a year after he passed away but finally decided to move forward. This is for encouragement for anyone who has had the dream of using your gifts and talents and owning a small business….YOU CAN do it! Don’t doubt yourself. Put GOD first, be strategic in your planning & don’t seek the approval and support of others because it may not come from likely sources. If you know in your heart this is what you are to do, GO FOR IT. GOD will PROVIDE!!! ~Nisha G. Fairley
