Sure, we’ve invested in all the latest and greatest in HEPA rated dustless sanding equipment, but every now and then we find a job where the old style machines far out perform the new. If we have to bring old Barry and the Colonel in, it’s likely you’ll want to have a dust mask on, but they sure do get the job done. We always want to leave a site cleaner than we found it, but the few extra hours cleaning are worth the time these old machines will save us.

New gym for the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation Community Center. If you’ve been to Foxwoods Casino you probably recognize the logo, only it’s a bit different without their signature blue background. We were so sure we’d be doing a gym with a blue color scheme that we jumped the gun and ordered the blue paint. Turns out they had more of a wampum purple color scheme in mind and we weren’t about to let them down.

Three grades of Maple, first on bottom, 2nd and better in middle and third on top. Sanded and sealed/finished as follows:

Left side: two coats of oil sealer, painted white lines and two coats of oil gloss finish.

Middle: two coats of clear waterbased sealer, painted white lines, a third coat of sealer and top coat with one coat of oil gloss.

Right side: Two coats of clear waterbased sealer, white lines and two coats of clear gloss waterbased finish.

White lines were painted at the same time with the same paint between coats.

Purpose of this post is to illustrate grade, color and affect over white/light colored gamelines.

Not only will oil based immediately affect the color of gamelines but it can also be streaky in wider areas at times.
