I'm sad to say the frost hit my cutting rows hard on Friday night, which marks the official end of the 2026 growing season.
That doesn't mean things slow down around here though. Now it's time for fall bed prep then the great dahlia dig.
A few things are hardy and are still blooming (hello snapdragons and chocolate cosmos!), but most of my blooms are done.
I used everything I cut on Friday before the freeze and some leftover imports to make myself an arrangement this evening. This bouquet features dahlias 'Rose Toscano', 'Nana's Petals' and 'Valley Porcupine', a snip of crab apple branch, nicotiana 'Cranberry Isles', Japanese anemone 'September Charm' and imported salmon ranunculus.
