Grateful for the years spent with Lance, he was like a father, a friend and a mentor. Thank you for giving this kid his first real job! 🙏
I got sponsored by Wave Tools around the mid-80’s and was front row to all the formidable years of the brand’s explosion with Richie and huge shipments to Japan and Calvary Chapel nights with Bob H. Lance was a true master of his craft and taught me so much about surfboards, art, business and how to sweep the parking lot. After my years of contest surfing, I transitioned into to competitive Snowboarding and Lance was right there, we even made some Wave Tools snowboard pants and jackets…still have the pants. Teaching him how to snowboard was like watching a big kid discovering his stoke again and he got addicted quickly. We were up there as much as possible, he even bought a big off road van just so we would make it up the mountain.
