Entries should be welcoming and somewhat dramatic. This sitting area has a beautiful bench by with feathers edging the pillows. The art on the wall is from and is made up of tiny wood pieces and the way the light streams down the face of the piece adds visual interest. The sculptured side table by the artist feels right with the rustic yet organized piece of art.

This project started out as “Mountain Craftsman” but the client became more interested in the Craftsman Genre and we dove in. This dining room was inspired by the one in this iconic Gamble House by Greene & Greene. Incredible craftspeople were enlisted and we created an updated yet still classic room.

A photographer captured this local church that is along the Highway—we had him blow it up and we altered the color of the sky. I try to incorporate local interest in projects when possible—it seems to have a grounding effect

PLASTER. A huge upgrade that makes a home feel more substantive, more generational. A home for the ages, whether the home is contemporary or traditional. It does come at a cost, and you don’t want to be nailing up a lot of artwork that could be moving. Repairs can be difficult and costly. It is not for the faint of heart, but it always elevates interiors, and I am a designer in favor of its use.

Ahhh, our Palm Desert, CA project at night. The temps are still high but the fall will be wonderful. The one new build is entirely constructed with stone walls and on the inside, plaster walls and marble floors. This is a great way to keep temps lower, but, of course there is AC with a back-up generator!

This beautiful pool looks inviting, but, with temps over 120 degrees in Palm Desert, if my clients were at this house, they would be found in the air-conditioned theater!
