Reclaimed LLC Creations & custom framing using salvaged wood. I originally started working with salvaged wood and framing back in 2002.

I started by collecting old dune fence from beaches on Long Beach Island. I used the old dune fence to make a few small boxes and to frame some of my own photographs as gifts for friends and family members. My first frames were made while attending Unity College in Maine. In my senior year I was assigned a project for my environmental stewardship class to leave a legacy at the school. I chose to f

rame photos that I took of the school while studying there. I framed them using the salvaged dune fence. The piece was hung in a hallway outside a classroom. After college I returned to work in New Jersey and then I started framing my own photographs of my work with rare wildlife in New Jersey. Many were sold at fundraisers for the organization I work for: Conserve Wildlife Foundation of NJ. During this time I’ve begun to become quite the collector of salvaged wood. While at work or play I always keep my eye out for anything that I think could be re-purposed. I also collect wood to help reduce this type of materials out of the waste stream. Some estimates but construction and wood waste at 28% of the waste stream. I've collected a bunch of salvaged wood throughout southern and coastal NJ. From old cedar fencing collected at Dennisville Fence to tongue and groove cedar that was salvaged from my friend’s house in Barnegat Light when he decided to remodel. I love working with salvaged wood because of it’s history and wear/tear. I some cases it can tell a story of its past use. All materials that I sell are hand made in New Gretna, NJ. The salvaged wood that I find is re-purposed or “upcycled” into very unique wood frames, furniture, and other treasures.

This fall I’m rummaging through my shop to dig up scrap pieces of .

These wood scraps are from the iconic which was destroyed by Superstorm Sandy. I salvaged wood from the shack with my father and made a limited series of cutouts to raise funds for local nonprofits helping with recovery efforts.

I’m using these scraps to make another limited run of Jersey cutouts but on a smaller scale. Ornaments. These are hand made to order and very limited quantity (for now, might add more after I make first batch). Each is stamped with “shack” and numbered. I include a hand written note to confirm authenticity. Link to purchase in the comments.

Glad to have had some time over the winter to get settled into my new . Still a lot of organizing that needs to happen, including the layout of stationary power tools. I’d love to say that I’m ready to start accepting custom orders but my time spent between these walls will be devoted to for myself and my family at our new home for the next 18 months or so.

Finally getting settled and creative in my new workshop. Making some garden plant tags out of metal for the local community garden. Never thought I’d be here working on the same bench that I did as a kid!

Here is a shot of the at my new place. I’m actually moving home, to where I grew up, so this was my dad’s shop where I dabbled in some woodworking as a kid. Going to take a considerable amount of time to clean, organize (hasn’t been used since before he passed away in 2014) and setup for my needs. It seems I shifted all my clutter here for the time being! 🤣 Thankfully, there is a whole other garage to store a lot of the that I’ve collected over the years. Either way, stoked to work in my dad’s old shop again!

Had the pleasure to custom frame this unique piece of art by Philly based artist Glossblack LLC, who specializes in typography. Sign was float mounted in a reclaimed spruce frame. It came out so nice that I almost wanted to buy for myself!!
