So, my buddy Scott strolled up to me a few weeks ago with a wild request: to whip up a windchime! Now, this isn't just any windchime — he’s been inspired by a musical group called "The Creekers." I mean, who are these folks, and do they make chimes from creek water? Anyway, when he pitched the idea, I thought, “This dude has officially lost it!” But hey, I like a challenge. After some trial and error (let’s be honest, mostly error), I crafted this masterpiece: a set of 4oz stainless steel flask dangling from some green 25lb test fishing line, all suspended from a chunk of inside barn wood from a 100 year old North Carolina barn. Now, when the wind blows, it creates a sound so beautiful, just like the music they make.

Well I hung up a UK banner yesterday. I know what you are saying, “well Hillbilly Wind Chime Man what’s so special about that? Everyone and his brother has one hanging off their front porch.” I know, I know. You see I have bounced around a few states being in this witness protection program so I haven’t planted roots but since I have been here for a few years I figured why not.
Anyways the way I came upon this banner is a story in itself. I went to a church rummage sale in Corbin last spring. It was the weekend after the first week of the NCAA basketball tournament and sitting on one of the tables was this banner for $1. So I snagged it! Figured it was from some disgruntled wildcat fan pi**ed off with yet another 1st round loss by UK and was giving up. Now I’m not on the bandwagon mind you but I am willing to ride a horse in the caravan.

So the boss brought this back from one of her buying expeditions almost 2 years ago. It’s an AMF tricycle. Had a good amount of rust on it Anyways, did my thing with the spray paint and this is what we got Still got to find the ribbon for the handle bar grips……Living high in the mountains overlooking the town of Manchester this is your world famous Hillbilly Wind Chime Man.

So your world famous Hillbilly Wind Chime Man leased out a 4’ square corner in the production facility to these 2 guys hunting Sasquatches in the area. They always show up wearing camouflage and sunglasses with binoculars around their neck. Strange dudes. 😂

I made a New Year’s resolution to post more on hear. Well it’s June so I thought I better start. We found this at a Goodwill in Somerset. It was all white, figured it was you to buy and paint yourself. Pam over at Otter Place Creations, we hang out a lot, painted it up. I might use this photo in the book I am currently writing…well jotting down.

We bought this at the flea market a few weeks ago. Paid a couple of bucks Brought it home and sprayed painted it because that’s what I do 😀

A set of Chicago Wind Chimes. Made for a customer honoring his favorite Chicago sport teams. The hanger is a piece of inside barn wood from a 100 year old barn. I torched it some and clear coated it. I think of it as representing the great Chicago fire. The little charms are dog tags that I turned sideways and printed the Chicago skyline on them.

The Hillbilly Wind Chime Man is an authentic Appalachian Artisan living in the mountains of Manchester KY. He creates high quality, hand painted wind chimes from recycled material. The bottles are recycled aluminum bottles. The hanger is from an old barn. The beads he picks up at yard sales.
