Stained glass pieces are all hand crafted and use the Tiffany copper foil method or traditional lead. She will frame her painted artwork with stained glass. Here at Christina’s Creations, Christina aims to put the word FUN into FUNctional. Her passion for saving the environment has included recycling bottles. In addition to recycling from local New Hampshire vineyards, she believes in decreasing our environmental footprint by recycling shipping materials. While others melt bottles flat to hang as a wall ornament, Christina creates functional bowls and serving trays to use for your parties or daily usage. What truly sets her apart is her ability to manipulate the glass to craft a design while leaving the neck intact.

A little Labor Day weekend work in the studio.

This bluebird has been sitting on my workbench waiting for the final details, and I’m really happy with how he came together. I decided to mount him on a piece of driftwood, which gives the piece a completely different presence than simply hanging it.

I’ve been spending quite a bit of time lately working on birds and finding ways to bring more of what I see in nature into my stained glass. This one feels like a step in that direction.

Sometimes the smallest details require an unexpected solution.

When I was creating Lumivra, my original stained glass dragon, I wanted the eye to have depth and dimension rather than simply being another flat piece of glass.

I used a fusing component for the eye, combining it with glass to create the dimensional effect I was looking for.

One tiny detail within a much larger piece, but also one of my favorites.

Sometimes creating means looking beyond the materials traditionally associated with your medium and asking, “What could this become?”

Every morning I find myself watching this bluebird family in my backyard.

After planting native flowers, placing birdhouses correctly, and patiently waiting, this little family moved in.

Today I managed to capture mom feeding her babies. Love to see those tiny beaks reaching up to be fed.

These moments remind me of why birds have become such an important part of my artwork. Before I chose a piece of glass, I spend time simply watching.

Nature has a way of showing us down, if we let it.

Professional photographs have reminded me why I enjoy stained glass so much.

Looking at the same panel from a different angle completely changes how the glass interacts with the light.

A photograph captures one moment, but in person the colors and textures continue changing throughout the day.

That's one of the unique qualities of stained-glass; it never looks exactly the same twice.

There's something satisfying about working with bevels.

Unlike colored glass, bevels collect and bend natural light, creating highlights that change throughout the day.

Combined with textured architectural glass, they create a clean, timeless design that works beautifully in both traditional and contemporary spaces.

One question I often receive is whether a stained glass panel needs to be installed into an existing window.

It doesn't.

Many of my panels are framed in wood so they can simply be displayed in a sunny window.

I intentionally left this frame unfinished so clients can choose the finish that best complements their home, natural wood, painted, or stained.

The glass remains the focal point while the frame becomes part of the overall design.

Sometimes my favorite view is from the side.

From this angle you can appreciate the depth of the panel, the black patina helps define each piece of glass, and how light moves through the design.

Professional photographs like these also remind me how important it is to photograph stained glass from more than one perspective. Every angle tells a different story.

One of the things I love most about stained glass is that the glass itself becomes part of the design.

This Victorian inspired floral panel combines textured glass, beveled glass, and a faceted jewel to create a piece that changes as the light changes throughout the day.

From across the room it reads as a simple floral design. Up close, the different glass textures begin to reveal themselves.

It's one of the reasons stained-glass continues to fascinate me, every piece tells a slightly different story depending on the light.
