We were offered a larger booth at Antiques on Elm in Manchester. The old booth was on a corner, so we only had two walls. The new booth allows many more possibilities for wall displays. We are very happy with how it came out. It took us only 4 hours to move all display pieces and all our inventory!! Antique sales have continued to be brisk this summer.

Here is an example of some of the restorations we do on a regular basis. These are Victorian style lamps likely from the 1920’s / 1930’s. The frames of the lamp base and lampshades are beautiful castings. The addition of color and new material for the lampshades really updated the look. All electrical has been updated for safety sake.

Last week, Gail and I were offered additional space at Wolfeboro Antiques & Artisan Barn in Wolfeboro, NH; today we took over the booth adjacent to ours. We are thrilled to have the extra room!

We spent most of the day moving in and unpacking new treasures for sale! We really enjoyed meeting all of the customers who visited the barn today. You may wonder why are we working so hard in retirement? This is something we have always wanted to do and we are having a blast!

Reuniting an item to its rightful place is very much a thrill for Gail and me. This morning I sold a vintage cardboard bumper sticker to the owner of Ruggles Mine (Grafton, NH). Back in the day, part time summer employees would wire these cardboard advertising bumper “stickers” to the vehicles in their parking lot. The changes to automobile bumpers in the mid-70s rendered this design obsolete. There were four strategically punched holes for the wire. These are now rarer than hen’s teeth. We made the custom frame to help preserve and display it. Enjoy!!
