Progress Update:
When I first set out on this journey, I had clear goals: lose fat, build muscle, and ultimately reshape my body composition. But what I’ve learned along the way is that progress isn’t linear—what we expect versus what actually happens can look very different, and that’s okay.
During my fat loss phase, the goal was straightforward: maintain a calorie deficit, stay consistent with training, and watch the scale drop. And it worked, quick. I also didn’t have other obligations that set me back. But shifting to muscle building? That’s where reality set in.
Reality Check:
The scale goes up, not down. Even knowing this would happen, it’s still mentally challenging to accept.
Strength gains don’t happen overnight. Some days I feel stronger, some days I don’t.
Body composition changes slowly. Building muscle takes time, and the visual differences aren’t immediate.
Patience has been key:
Muscle growth is a long game. Unlike fat loss, where results can be seen relatively quickly, muscle development may takes years, for me unlike others it may take months. Life gets in the way, at times, but thats okay! I’m trusting the process. The scale may fluctuate, and progress may feel slow, but every workout, every meal, and every recovery day matters.
If you’re in a similar phase, my advice is this: embrace the journey. Take progress photos, track strength gains, and focus on how you feel. The results will come, but only if you give your body the time and accept everyday might not look the same.
