This one took a little longer than expected, but there’s a story behind it.

We started this project last week and were only able to put three days into it before we had to step away and knock out three separate carpet jobs. Over 150 yards of carpet installed in just two days.

Then it was right back to this house this week for another three days to get everything wrapped up.

Between all of that, we completed flooring through three bedrooms, the laundry room, living room, kitchen, and dining area.

It was a busy couple of weeks, a lot of moving pieces, and some long days—but seeing the whole house come together like this makes it worth it.

Then comes the uncertainty. The long days. The early mornings. The late nights. The mistakes. The lessons. The moments where you wonder if you’re actually crazy for trying.

This one took us 5 days from start to finish. We patched the concrete, prepped the floor, installed a multi width multi length LVP, built a custom flush-mount stair nose on the step and another one on the bi-level edge, then finished it off with new baseboard, caulk, and paint.

That one step and the bi-level transition alone took 3 days. Most people probably won’t even notice them—and honestly, that’s the goal. When they’re done right, they just look like they belong there.

I could’ve done it the quick way, but that’s never really been my style. I’d rather spend the extra time getting the details right than spend the rest of my life wishing I had.

I don’t expect everyone to notice the little things. The people who do are usually the ones who call me.

This is why I love what I do.

A customer called me because they accidentally got bleach on the carpet in their office. Instead of making them wait, I stopped over that same day, gave them an estimate, helped them pick out a carpet, ordered it right away, and got them back to normal as fast as I could.

Today we wrapped up the install, and seeing reviews like this makes all the long days worth it.

Running a small business isn’t always easy, but I truly appreciate every customer who trusts Floyd’s Flooring with their home or business. My goal has never been to be the biggest flooring company—just the one people know they can count on.

🎉 Floyd’s Flooring Turns One 🎉

A year ago, Floyd’s Flooring officially opened.

The other night I got curious and started looking back through our invoices and job history to see what our first year actually looked like.

Here’s what we came up with…

📊 Year One by the Numbers

🏡 112 homes completed

🏢 24 commercial flooring projects completed

📏 52,840 sq. ft. of luxury vinyl plank installed

🧶 1,968 yards of carpet installed

🪜 24 staircases completed

📐 2,376 linear feet of baseboard installed

🪣 200+ bags of self-leveler poured

🗑️ 12+ tons of old flooring removed and hauled away

Looking through all the pictures from this past year was pretty cool. Every floor has a story behind it. Some jobs were as simple as installing new flooring. Others meant tearing out old floors, repairing subfloors, pouring self-leveler, rebuilding damaged areas, and putting everything back together.

None of this would’ve been possible without our customers. Whether you hired us, referred us to someone else, or simply followed along this past year, thank you for the support. We appreciate every opportunity we’ve been given.

We’re looking forward to seeing what Year Two has in store.

Can you believe the audacity? Asking a flooring guy to do walls. 🤣

Anyway… here’s the shiplap bathroom we knocked out. It still needs paint and a few finishing touches, but I think it turned out pretty good.
