I just want to say Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful Mothers out there. And I especially want to thank our own team of Mothers who stepped up as always to help us through a difficult time. We couldn't have done it without you!

Family and friends, the shop will be closed next week - May 11-16th - for rest and reset. As always, we will be available for funeral work and garden plants will be available during this time just give us a call. 304-986-1477.

Due to the volume of orders, for both Prom and Mother’s Day we can no longer except Prom orders. We still have plenty of hanging baskets and gift items available for mom.

It's that time of year! We have hanging baskets for mom and the other special women of support in your life! We have Hellebores as well if you would like something that will start next year off with a bloom, and hanging ferns for those who like the simplicity of a little greenery. For those who just want a spot of beauty we would be happy to create something unique, all you need to do is call and ask.

Dear flower shop family and friends, we just learned today that the front of our shop will not be accessible for the next 6 months, due to the construction of the temporary bridge.
We ask that you continue to support us. In doing so, you may park across the street or in the back of the shop or in the city parking lot.
For those who may have trouble navigating steps or walking from the back of the parking lot, please call us and we will deliver out to your car. For those who can, please continue to shop the front of our store.
This is an unanticipated inconvenience, but as we have been Sniders / Mountaineer Florist Strong for 80 years, with your help we won’t let this slow us down.
Knowing that this is for the betterment of our town, with your support, we will continue to serve our community.

We still have Hellebores! (also known as Lenten Rose, because they are blooming during Lent). I've been to many local greenhouses and nurseries, and unless you want to drive 4 hours (like we did) you won't find any for this price at this level of vigor. You could pay upwards of $20 for half dead, potentially in**ed, year old plants that will take 3 years to bloom, or you could pay $16 right here at Mountaineer Florist for 2 and three year old hand pollinated F1 hybrids that have already bloomed, meaning they will continue to bloom during successive seasons. Some of these plants have more than 5 pups already. They can be divided again in the future and will also self-sow. Deer hate them!
