Weekends are for family time.
I was at a session this week where they were talking about the experiences you have as a family business that's different when you're not related. Questions like "is it harder taking constructive criticism from someone you love" or "how do you balance not talking about work when you're off the clock" or better yet "does it make work harder or easier".
When my family decided to work alongside me, we all quickly learned our skillsets and weaknesses, but in the most loving way, we all hold eachother accountable to grow because its rooted in love.
I know we're so blessed that we truly love working together and love what we do. We all have our own responsibilities and pick each other up when we fail forward. Our jobsites are often filled with laughter, us singing together, cheering eachother on when we run into tough challenges, and most importantly, we pray for eachother before we start any work.
I don't think we would have made it to almost 7 years without our determination and core value of serving in the best possible way. We have grown closer as a family and a business because we all share the same goal.
So weekends for us, we actually aren't on jobsites. We are doing fun relaxing things together just like a normal family. We close so we can have balance and rest.
Balance is hard sometimes in this industry, but while our babies are so small, it's a priority and that is the best ROI I can ask for right now.
