Sometimes the best detours become the best memories. ❤️

What caught my eye in this kitchen was the seamless quartz countertop and warm wood cabinetry. What captured my heart was watching my mom enjoy a Parade Home for the first time in years.

Beautiful design is important. Thoughtful design that makes people feel included is unforgettable.

Interior Designer vs. Decorator... what's the difference?

It's one of the most common questions I hear.

Both professionals bring valuable expertise to a project, but their roles aren't always the same.

This kitchen transformation is a great example. While the finished space is certainly more beautiful, the real transformation came from improving how the space functions for everyday life.

When planning a remodel, understanding the difference can help you choose the right professional for your goals.

✨ I recently updated my blog:
**Interior Designer vs. Decorator: Why the Right Choice Matters**

Read it through the link in my bio.

Have you ever worked with an interior designer or decorator?

We thought we were just being our goofy selves at the Giant Sing Along Minnesota State Fair . 🎶❤️

Then a stranger captured this moment.

13 years of marriage has taught me that the best relationships aren't about perfection. They're about friendship, laughter, showing up for each other, and finding joy in the ordinary moments.

The same values that guide my marriage are the values that guide my work: connection, presence, and caring for people well.

Walking through this year’s Artisan Home Tour felt different in the best way.

Yes, the homes were stunning—but what stood out most was the shift toward intentional living.

Spaces that feel layered, personal, and deeply livable.
From warmer tones to thoughtful functionality, every detail tells a story about how we want to live now—not just how we want things to look.

✨ A few highlights I’m taking with me: Texture on texture (done beautifully)
• Softer, warmer palettes replacing stark contrasts
• Spaces designed for real life—pantries, mudrooms, and all
• Light used with purpose, not just abundance
• Comfort becoming the new definition of luxury

This is where design is heading—and it’s a direction I love.

When patience runs low during a home renovation, this is the part that matters most.

Real life lives in the in-between— the decisions, the delays, the moments that ask for pause.

This is where grace shows up.

More on this in my latest blog (chapter 5).

This is what peace looks like 🤍

Not quiet mornings or perfectly still moments…
but laughter, sunshine, and the people who feel like home.

Peace is in these memories—
in the way we show up for each other,
in the joy we create together,
in the moments that remind us what really matters.
✨ The laughter
✨ The love
✨ The feeling of being fully present

This is why we protect our peace.
So we have more of this.

If life feels heavy, come back to what grounds you—
the people, the moments, the joy you don’t want to miss.

More on building that kind of life at the link in bio... Chapter 4🤍

There are seasons where we measure success by how much we can carry.

How fast we can move.
How full the calendar looks.

And then there are moments like this—
where nothing is being optimized, rushed, or achieved…
and yet everything important is happening.

Presence.
Connection.
Breath.

Slowing down isn’t falling behind.
It’s choosing to be fully here.

If you’ve been feeling the pull to do less, to soften your pace—
maybe that’s not a weakness.
Maybe that’s wisdom calling.
