Another Sunday fun day at the mill! Was fortunate to get some 16’ beams this week and not just a couple… these beams date back to World War 2 from a building in the South Metro. Who likes pulling nails?

The smell of fresh-cut pine in the shop hits differently tonight. While the scent here comes from ripping and planing pine slabs, my thoughts are with everyone in and around the Boundary Waters, where that same familiar aroma is being carried by wildfire instead of craftsmanship. Grateful for the work in front of me, and hoping for safety, rain, and relief for this beautiful area.

What’s better than getting two thumbs‑up from the kids? Had an incredible time working with Ciri and her crew on a custom console build for their home. The best part? The kids came out to the shop and helped pick out the perfect Red Elm slab themselves—total pros with great taste. 🔨This stunning table is going to be such an awesome addition to their space!

✨ Here’s to this table hosting great study sessions, endless snacks, big laughs, and all the memories ahead. 🤎

✨ Cleaning the shop these past couple weeks felt like its own TV series. There were episodes of determination, episodes of denial, and at least one episode where I seriously questioned who wrote this script. Every workbench had a surprise guest star, and the dust clearly thought it had a recurring role.
But the finale? Worth it. The shop is finally looking refreshed, revived, and ready for all of our next projects!

The shop was buzzing this weekend with loads of sawdust in the air, boards stacked everywhere, and the hum of the planer running nonstop. From Maple to Hickory to White Oak and more, we pushed a full mix of slabs through the lineup.

There’s something satisfying about watching each rough, raw piece hit the machines and come out with grain popping and character showing. Here's a sneak peek...plenty more in the queue.
