Sometimes beauty is found in the most unexpected places. Here are a few beautiful surprises this week...
Saltlover: I found this beautiful plant growing in the desert outside of Vernal. From a distance it just blends in with the sage brush and tumbleweeds, but up close it's stunning! Also, toxic and possibly invasive, but truly beautiful 😉
Tomatoes: My friend Hilary Barksdale brought me 2 giant bags of tomatoes from her garden! They are so delicious. I'm so grateful for friends who grow actual food and share their abundance with me 🍅
The Addams Family: We went to see this play at the The Ruth and Nathan Hale Theater with absolutely no knowledge of the musical and were so delighted by the performances, the music and the dark humor. We were all thoroughly entertained and it was the perfect way to start the spooky season!
McCoy Flats: We went camping and biking with our kids at McCoy Flats outside of Vernal and had the best time. The trails were well marked and maintained and the scenery was stunning.
Hattie Big Sky: Clara brought this book home from school and we read it together. It's about a 16 year old orphan who inherits land in Montana and tries to create a homestead. It covered many difficult subjects like war, xenophobia, misogyny, and nationalism while also painting a beautiful picture of life in rural Montana in the early 1900s. We laughed and cried as we fell in love with Hattie and can't wait to read the second book in the series.
