I really love heavy pottery vases with a little delicate old-world charm mixed in. 🌿

These are just a few of the many vases I’ve been collecting over time. There will always be a rotating collection of vases at Grandma’s Parlor for you to wander through and enjoy — from substantial earthy pottery pieces to softly painted treasures that feel like they’ve carried stories for generations. 💐

🐾 FIND TOJO AT GRANDMA’S PARLOR! 🐾

Grandma’s Parlor won’t officially be opening until sometime in August, but we wanted to give everyone a little sneak peek of one of the fun things we’ll be doing in the shop. 😊

Every day, Tojo will be hidden somewhere different in the store in his little framed picture. 👀

For those of you that like to save money… you’ll definitely want to play the scavenger game and find Tojo hidden away somewhere in the shop. 🐾

If you find him, you’ll receive 5% OFF the item of your choice that day! 🎉

Some days he may be easy to spot… and other days he may be a little sneaky. 😊

And yes… Grandma’s Parlor is a dog-friendly shop for well-behaved small dogs and their humans. 🐾 You may even meet Peanut and Pookie while you’re shopping . ❤️

We thought this would be a fun little way to make Grandma’s Parlor feel warm, playful, and memorable for both kids and grown-ups alike.

✨ Find Tojo. Save a little. Smile a lot. ✨

I’m going to have mason jars in Grandma’s Parlor filled with my parents’ oatmeal chocolate chip cookie mix, all ready to take home and make in your own kitchen.

One of my best memories is eating heaping spoonfuls of the cookie dough after my dad mixed up a batch. Truthfully, I think I probably ate way more cookie dough than I ever ate actual cookies. 😊

That’s exactly why the label features the dough instead of the finished cookies

Today I spent the day creating vintage-style price tags for Grandma's Parlor — and while working on them, I realized something special…
The story behind Grandma’s Parlor began with my dad and the memories that shaped my heart, but little Tojo — also known as Pickle Pants — has truly become the mascot of the shop. ❤️
From now on, Tojo will be on every single price tag in the store. Sometimes he’ll be peeking out of the grass, sitting on Grandma’s lap, hiding near grapevines, or quietly watching over a little treasure waiting for a new home.
And there’s more…
Each day, a framed picture of Tojo will move to a different spot somewhere inside Grandma’s Parlor. If you find him, there may be a little surprise waiting for you:
• a special cookie
• 5% off an item
• an entry into our monthly gift certificate drawing
• or another little surprise from Grandma’s Parlor
I wanted the store to feel warm, personal, nostalgic, and a little magical… the kind of place that makes people smile and slow down for a moment.
And somehow, sweet little Pickle Pants became the perfect part of that story. 🐾💜
See a preview of just a few of the pricetags.

My sewing room at Grandma’s Parlor is slowly coming to life tonight. ❤️

One of the things I’m most excited about is the old Symplex ironer I found at a garage sale. I haven’t had lynn pick it up yet. But it’s paid for and has a place waiting in the store. My mother used to use one of these machines in the basement ironing, pillowcases. I remember her sitting at this machine down in the laundry room on many occasions. She was always ironing and cleaning. Just one scoop with a pillowcase and it was done in moments.

Lynn’s mother LOVES ironing. I have an old ironing board I plan on bringing into the store tomorrow. My Hope is Joan will come into the store and iron Lynn’s shirts while customers are shopping. Wouldn’t that be cool? Either that or have her sitting at the piano playing some tunes when customers are shopping. I don’t know if that’s gonna happen though. 🤔 She is kind of shy about playing the piano in front of people, but I’m working on her. 🙏

What would it feel like to walk into Grandma’s Parlor and hear an older lady or gentleman playing the piano? 🎶

Next week, I’m going to go look at a baby grand piano for the store.

It made me think back to growing up… my siblings and I would wake up on Sunday mornings to our dad playing the piano before church. 🤍

Would you enjoy something like that while you’re shopping?

And if you play… would you ever feel comfortable sitting down and sharing a song or two?

A new touch at Grandma's Parlor that means a lot to me — a sign-in table for all our guests. I’d love for you to leave your name when you stop by when the store opens.

I’m also sharing our mission statement in this post behind the horses head, so you can see the heart behind Grandma’s Parlor:

What do you think of the horse?? — I think it adds just the right nostalgic charm.

Well, I got the chandelier up—what do you think? Does my storefront look inviting?

Even though I always hated being the tall sister, it sure came in handy today. Cindy Peters Carson and JulieAnn Carbee , you two would have been up and down a ladder all day if you did this job.

Grandma and Grandpa are sitting comfortably in their chairs in the window, keeping watch. Their sign, Grandma’s Parlor and Grandpa’s Limestone Cellar, will be going up above the door this week! I can’t wait. I think it’s coming together. 🤔

I’ll be honest… this one makes my heart wiggle.
But I suppose the right home might convince me to let it go 🤍
