A little something new for Grandma’s Pantry! 🤎

Beans, rice, and old-fashioned oats just look better in these beautiful old-time pantry jars. I wanted them to feel like something you might have seen sitting on Grandma’s kitchen counter years ago.

I’m having so much fun adding these little touches to Grandma’s Parlor — the details are what make it feel like home. 💙

🍷 Grandma’s Parlor has taken another big step!

I completed our registration this morning for an Iowa Native W**e license! Now we just have to wait for approval. We’re so excited to add this little something extra to the Grandma’s Parlor experience!

So far, our friends’ and family’s favorites is a beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon — a deep ruby w**e with rich berry flavors, hints of black currant and cedar, healthy tannins, and a smooth, lingering finish. 🍇

It won’t be long before you’ll be able to purchase this one — along with many other wonderful Iowa w**es — right here at Grandma’s Parlor. 💙

✨Silver and Gold at Grandma’s Parlor ✨

I had so much fun arranging this table with beautiful silver, gold, china, and glassware treasures that I forgot one important detail—the tablecloth! 😂

Grandma probably would have had a freshly ironed tablecloth ready and would be whispering, “Roberta, a properly set table shouldn’t be caught bare!” 🤭

What a special day at Grandma’s Parlor. 💙

First, my childhood friend Kelly stopped by to help me with a few things, and then later my childhood friend Judy came in with three of her friends. Kelly, Judy, and I were all part of the same little group of four friends growing up, so having two of my four childhood friends in Grandma’s Parlor on the same day felt pretty special. 🥰

There’s nothing better than seeing familiar faces, meeting new friends, and having people take a little time to look around, visit, and enjoy the Parlor.

Thank you, Judy, for bringing your friends in to meet Lynn and me, and thank you, Kelly, for coming by and helping me today.

That’s exactly what I want Grandma’s Parlor to be—a place where friends can gather, visit, make memories, and step back to a gentler time. 💙

Kelly and Judy, thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting this little venture of ours. It means more to me than you know.💕

We’re still putting the finishing touches on Grandma’s Parlor and getting all our treasures priced, but we’re coming right along! Although our official Grand Opening and ribbon cutting are still to come, you don’t have to wait to visit. Stop in, look around, and see what special treasure might be waiting for you. 🌸 Something special is coming to Grandma’s Parlor! 🌸

We’ll soon be offering handmade seed-paper greeting cards — cards that can be planted after they’ve been enjoyed and will grow into flowers! 🌱🌼

Each card will be made a little differently, but we’re planning to decorate the front with the beautiful impression of a real flower, gently hammered into the paper. Inside, Lynn will handwrite the message in his calligraphy, giving every card that old-fashioned, personal touch that fits Grandma’s Parlor so well. ❤️

Each card will also include a little instruction card explaining how to plant the seed paper:

Plant it • Water it • Watch it grow. 🌱

Instead of putting a special card away in a drawer, the person receiving it can plant it and enjoy flowers as a sweet reminder of the person who gave it to them.

A card, a keepsake, and eventually… flowers. 🌸
