❤️ One Hundred Years of Life, and a Lifetime of Love ❤️
Tribute to my AUNT Jozefa Waclawska.
Today, I want to share something personal with my Maria’s Farm family.
Recently, my sister and I traveled to southern Poland to celebrate a precious milestone: the 100th birthday of my mother’s oldest sister—my dear aunt.
About sixty of us gathered, including her surviving children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Some relatives I met for the first time; others I had not seen in forty years. Coming together to honor her was a once-in-a-lifetime gift.
But for me, this celebration was about more than her remarkable age. It was a chance to thank the woman who became my second mother.
During my teenage years, my mother was in America, making sacrifices so that we could one day join her and have a better future. Back in Poland, my aunt helped care for me and guided me through those years.
She worked hard on her farm. She did not have much money, but whatever she had, she shared. At her home, I always had something to eat. I always had a place at Christmas. I always knew I was welcome.
Looking back, I understand how much those simple acts meant. A meal, a place at the table, and someone who cares can stay with you for a lifetime.
Perhaps some of the love I share today at Maria’s Farm began at her table, where she taught me through her actions that even when we have little, we still have something to give.
My dear Aunt, thank you for helping me grow up. Thank you for your kindness, your guidance, and the comfort of your home. Thank you for loving me like your own.
At your 100th birthday, surrounded by the generations of your family, I hope you felt how deeply you are loved.
You were, and always will be, my second mother. ❤️
As Always,
Maria
