Come kickoff the holiday season with me! I would love to see my past clients, family and friends! I have had so many new followers in the last couple of months and I want to meet you in person! There will be plenty of drinks and snacks, so you don’t have to worry about getting supper before you come. You know me we will have allergy friendly options! Let’s talk sap. Eucalyptus comes in a lot of different varieties. People love it because of its scent and sage green color. The thing most people don’t know about it is how hard it is to get the sap off of your hands. Christmas greens are also known for their fragrance and their sap. Thankfully the same things work to remove both. Rubbing alcohol is probably the best thing to use. Hand sanitizer works well as do essential oils. Really any kind of oil works, the hardest part is getting it out from under your finger nails. I usually end up just cutting them off. What doesn’t work? Soap

When you have a lot of arrangements to do start with your biggest one. If you are doing multiple similar arrangements do work on three or four at a time. Starting with a layer of greenery and then a layer of your other ingredients one at a time.

I’m grateful for the people who fought and died, so that I can be free! For me it was a busy weekend with two weddings. I watched two different families celebrate the love of two different couples. I’m tired and thankful that I get to do what I love. This Memorial Day for me is a day of much needed rest. I’m taking a week off to reset before diving back into proposal revisions and prep for the next wedding. I’m taking some time to celebrate birthdays that happened while I was too busy to give them the attention they deserved. I worked 17 and a half hours yesterday alone. I’m so lucky that I get to work with people I love. People that love the work we do as much as I do. It rained on us a lot this weekend and we still had a great time! It’s important to me to build a company that people want to work with and for. I want to serve my clients well, but it’s just as important that my employees and vendors are happy. I can’t do what I do without them! I hope today is a day of rest and remembrance for you as well. Happy Memorial Day!

If you haven’t been to the DK Gallery on the Marietta Square, you should go! It’s really lovely! The piece I based my arrangement off of is called “Vases and Figs Bowl” and it’s by Catie Baldet. She had several pieces on display. I don’t know a lot about fine art, but the details in the painting are intricate. I appreciate the gallery’s support of local artists. I love to see representations of the square and the surrounding areas. Someday I want to take a painting class. My mom painted, when I was really little. I don’t have any memories of her oil painting, but I have some of her work that I need to put in a prominent spot. She was very artistic and I know I wouldn’t be doing what I do today if it wasn’t for her.
