A return customer came in and chose this stone for a custom ring during their visit to Maine. This pear-shaped Aquamarine has a deep belly, so I had to make the bezel wire to accommodate the height. Faceted stones require a step or shoulder, and you can see that inside the bezel. Hand forged, hammered shank. Client pickup was wonderful, and I look forward to their next visit! Until then, this ring will live in CO as its bad mama-jamma person lays down the law in the Colorado Judicial System.

Sizing this 18K signet ring up from 5.5 to 6. Made the sizing stock, but it was too narrow for this 2.3mm wide shank. When I teach you how metal moves, it translates to real life and daily work behind the bench. I was able to move the metal to the width I need and complete the sizing job. CHALLENGE ALERT: I have been making open back settings lately and thought it a good challenge to post. Try incorporating an open back setting into your work to practice your piercing, use piercing as an artful element, fabricate a stud setting with a bar in the back for your post, make a step bezel, or an open ring shank for a filing and soldering challenge. This ring is an open back, letting light shine through this rock candy tourmaline and has an open shank, another terrific challenge. Try it ⚒️🔥
