Some of my favorite rooms aren’t defined by one memorable piece, but by the way each layer builds upon the next.

This mural provides a dramatic backdrop, the custom plaid lumbar and pencil-striped bolster introduce contrast in scale, and the vintage rug softens the room with age and character. Watching all of those layers come together was one of our favorite parts of this project.

At Duffy Scott Interiors, the details are never an afterthought—they’re the work itself.

As a new build comes to life, we walk through each space with fresh eyes, evaluating every layer and every detail within the context of the completed home. We’re studying sight lines, observing how materials and finishes respond to changing light throughout the day, and ensuring each element contributes to a cohesive and intentional experience.

The difference between a good room and one that feels truly effortless is often found in the smallest details. Our job is to think through them all, so when our clients walk through the door, everything feels exactly as it should.

One of my favorite things about design is watching hundreds of individual decisions somehow become one cohesive story.

This house has been exactly that.

The architecture set the tone from the beginning, and we let that vision guide many of our decisions for the spec design and the interiors for our living, dining, and kitchen spaces. Leaning into the home’s mid-century influences with subtle Asian-inspired elements, we focused on creating spaces that feel relaxed, layered, and connected to the architecture.

The doors are officially open, and we couldn’t be more excited to finally share this home with you!

We were incredibly honored to be selected as the Spec Designer for the 2026 Lake Burton Showhouse and to collaborate alongside Lew Oliver and Liz Treadwell , Austin Treadwell and Allen Hughes of , and to help bring this remarkable home to life.

From the beginning, we leaned into Lew’s architectural vision, embracing a blend of mid-century influences and subtle Asian-inspired elements that feel perfectly at home on Lake Burton. Beyond the material selections, Duffy Scott Interiors was also entrusted with the design of the living room, dining room, and kitchen. Our goal was to create spaces that felt relaxed, collected, and inviting, with thoughtful pops of color inspired by the home’s stunning stone selections while maintaining the restraint and simplicity that allow the architecture, craftsmanship, and materials to truly shine.

This home is filled with incredible details and the work of so many dedicated partners. A heartfelt thank you to our sponsors, and , as well as the many artisans, makers, vendors, and trades who helped bring these spaces to life.

The Lake Burton Showhouse is open June 4-7 and June 11-14 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM daily.

If you love architecture, interiors, craftsmanship, and thoughtful design, this is one you won’t want to miss!

A peak into final selections for something special coming to Lake Burton.

We’re honored to that Duffy Scott Interiors was selected as the spec designer for the 2026 Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles Burton Showhouse alongside architect Lew Oliver and builder McKinney Builders at Burton Community.

From June 4–14, this stunning showhouse will open its doors for tours—offering a look inside a home intentionally designed to celebrate life on the lake through layered detail.

Enjoy a small glimpse of the behind-the-scenes momentum as everything begins coming together in preparation for the event. Watching a home transform at this stage always feels a little like magic. Shout out to Thibaut for sponsoring us with rugs and textiles for our Living, Dining, & Kitchen spaces.

We can’t wait to share more soon. In the meantime, grab your tickets and come explore this incredible showhouse with us this June. ✨
