A darling friend wrote me yesterday that she is lonely for a long time and has noone to stitch a Valentine piece for, but I think love is far not only about romance, it is not only Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Benneth, it is much more and more deep. She does have the most important person in the whole wide world to love and to really-really love: herself.
Love yourself first and foremost is essential for us and self-love grows through small, intentional acts: allowing yourself freedom, resting when you are tired, and making space for the things that bring you peace — even something as simple as picking up your needle and stitching some delightful crosses on a linen.
