🚨 Millennial core memory unlocked! 🚨

Who remembers bath time with the Ideal Rub-A-Dub Doggie? 🐶🛁 This little guy came out in 1982, and that pull-string/lever to make his head shake and "dry off" was pure magic. Between the plush floppy ears and those airbrushed blushing cheeks, they just don't make bath toys like this anymore!

This vintage cutie made its way in the store today thanks to Wright County Antiques and More . As soon as I saw it I gasped and suddenly I was taken back to a simpler time.

✨ NEW VENDOR SPOTLIGHT ✨A new vendor has almost moved in and this is just one of her pieces.

Take a close look at the stunning textures and vibrant colors in this authentic, hand-stitched vintage yo-yo quilt. Yo-yo quilting—sometimes known as "Suffolk Puffs"—surged in popularity during the Great Depression and WWII eras. Resourceful makers would save every scrap of dress fabric, household textiles, and even flour sacks, transforming them into individual gathered rosettes. Each little medallion was painstakingly prepped, puckered, and stitched together entirely by hand.Because these textiles do not use traditional batting or backing, they are incredibly lightweight. They work beautifully as a summer coverlet, a colorful throw over the couch, or even displayed on the wall as historical textile art.

🎸 One of Our Newest Vendors – Larry Perkins! 🎸

If you’ve been in 54 Mercantile lately, you may have heard some live music drifting through the aisles. Last week, Larry Perkins pulled up a stool in the shop, picked up his guitar, and treated us to a song named, Jericho—a touching tune about “Jesus’s dog” that had folks stopping in their tracks to listen.

Larry is a local musician, singer, and songwriter, and we’re excited to welcome him as one of our newest vendors! Along with sharing his music, Larry has guitars and guitar supplies available right here at 54 Mercantile.

Whether you’re a seasoned musician, just learning to play, or simply appreciate good music and good stories, be sure to stop by and check out Larry’s booth.
