Still alive, but like barely…

Holy crud, August was a lot. And school is back in session (not just for my kids, but for me too and wow…the first week kicked my ass) so let the organized chaos begin!

Made some progress on my Christmas Birds of a Feather Blanket and had to share because it’s been FAR too long since I posted here.

This blanket will be available as an official kit with Lion Brand Yarn this October!

One sleeve down… one cuff to go. 🧶✨

This sweater is so close to being finished, and today I’m casting on the second sleeve cuff. It’s been such a joy watching all of these rich purples, browns, and soft pinks come together into one cozy knit, but I’ve had this in my project pile for WAY too long and it’s time to wrap it up so I can actually enjoy wearing it!

There’s just something about reaching the finish line of a sweater that makes every stitch worth it. I can’t wait to block it, weave in the ends, and finally wear it this fall. 🍂

🧛🏻‍♂️🍂🧟‍♀️Cast on a new pair of socks yesterday and I’m loving the monster vibes. These stripes are coming from the Halloween mini skein advent calendar I hand dyed back in 2023, and it finally felt like the perfect time to cast them on. Watching each little color appear again is bringing back all the cozy spooky-season memories.

My Merry Grinchmas Blanket is bringing all the cozy holiday vibes months ahead of schedule. 💚❤️ I love how the classic Crochet Granny Stitch shows off these Grinch-inspired colors—it’s festive, cozy, and impossible not to smile at.

It’s finally here!! The Coloring Book Garter Stitch Knit Blanket is available on my blog (F R E E) and as a PDF in all my shops. I want to thank everyone who has shown such love to this blanket. It was such a joy to work on and it made me so happy that everyone was just as excited about it as I have been. I hope you cast on this weekend and share your blankets with me as you knit!

I’ve had a lot of questions about various parts of this blanket, so let’s get into it! First - here’s a shot of the backside of this blanket. Personally, I think it’s really fun how the colors blend together on the back.

I’ve also had questions about the edge and whether the side with the ends looks inflated. The answer to this is no. As you can see here, both edges look the same. The edge laying at the top half of the photo is the left side of the blanket. The edge laying at the bottom half of this photo is the right side where all the ends are being woven in. No bloating. No fanning.

This is the backside of the edge where I am weaving in ends. For awhile I was trying the knitting technique where you weave in ends as you go. I decided later that I didn’t fully trust that, so I pulled them all out and wove them in by hand for about and inch/inch-and-a-half. For the rest of the blanket I’ve been leaving even longer ends and will weave them in just a little further, but I don’t anticipate any of them going anywhere.

Finally - just another quick shot. I just started the last four colors and I’ll be done! Honestly, I’ll miss this project. But I’m also excited to hop back over to my crochet blanket and make some special gifts. ❤️

Only SIX more colors to go!! Here’s a full, squishy closeup of this knit garter stitch blanket! This has been such a joy to work on and I’m so glad you guys have been loving this project as much as I have been.
