Ovarian cancer took her away from us when she was only 68 yrs..old,
I still wait for that phone to ring and you and I setting off to one of our adventures for the day. I Love you Mom ❤️

The annual "Firefall" at Horsetail falls in Yosemite. This happens once a year when the sun lines up perfectly to reflect off the falls this way, making it look like a 'firefall' instead of a waterfall 😍🔥

Each piece of framed art is hand embroidered around the ribbon. Just choose the ribbon of your choice. Hi all, this is Leanna L. Richmond, Curator/Owner of The Passionate Plum. Hope everyone is happily crafting. I have unfortunately been absent these days as I've been 24/7 taking care of my Father who has been very ill for eight Years with Alzheimer's and a stroke. My Father passed away this weekend, although there is some relief for him suffering for so long... I Miss him and will need some time. My Mother passed eight years ago from Ovarian Cancer, she has always been my best friend and shopping, crafting, decorating partner.

You can see where The Passionate Plum was developed, my passion of raising awareness for the causes. I've also dealt with Lyme Disease for about thirteen plus years that has taken a huge toll in me physically as well as mentally. I had surgery yesterday and have another one coming up once I'm recovered from this one. Life for me and my passion for crafts, decorating etc had taken a long break. I hope that soon I'll be active again and sharing on my page. Friends, please feel free to post what your passions are in the mean time, it's encouraging to me and my recovery. Keep on sharing with my "THE PASSIONATE PLUM". 💚 PLEASE THOUGH, NO SELLING ON MY PAGE !!!

As one might note there has not been much activity on my page as of late. I have had some of life's greatest emotional stresses and challenges before me. After loosing my Mother to Ovarian Cancer and then discovering a cyst on my o***y and undergoing a full hysterectomy my health took a downward spiral, as did my motivation for creativity and arts. When my Mother, my best friend passed, I took on the care of my Father who has Alzheimer's Disease and being the only family to care for him this has been very challenging. In the Fall of 2011 I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease and have had to be on massive, non stop powerful antibiotics and essentially have not immune system. My body is falling apart with no remission or cure within sight. In May of 2012, My Dad had an auto accident and suffered essentially a stroke and I had to bring him into our home to give him more extensive care that he required. I found that I could no longer care for him after 8 months of 24/7 care taker. I found a nice long term care facility that he set up residence at after a a couple weeks of being in the Hospital. Now I have found that I'm going to have to jump through hoops with Medicaid to get him the long term care and he does not qualify at this moment to continue staying where he is. Tomorrow.... I bring him home again. I hope to have his home and property in California sold before March so that I can get him back in the home where he found comfort, safety and medical care. Unfortunately his being a Veteran of the Air Force did not afford him a Veterans Home to go too here in Arkansas or much of any support to help him with his medical needs since they were not service connected. Wow, excuse me for my rant... just realized how I've gone on and on about my life. But you know it all brings up a great point.... My desire to help raise support and awareness for the causes started with my Mother's illness (Teal Cause Ribbon), then my own, Lyme Ribbon and now my Father's which is the Red Ribbon. Before I knew it I had people from all around the World asking "Do you make ribbons for _______Disease and ______Illness ? and so I kept on going and going and need to continue on.....

Crafting at the studio has come to a halt for a while now while I've been working an additional job, and fight a new illness. I still welcome any special orders. I now have a very special cause that I would like all to raise more awareness for and that is LYME Disease. I've been just recently diagnosed with Lyme myself and have come to realize that folks in Arkansas with Lyme are being denied treatments and diagnosis because so many choose to look the other way than to expect that our "Natural State" may have those nasty ticks. People have lost their lives and become extremely ill, wake up Arkansas. I guess some are more worried about our tourism being effected by such a small little tick scare. Lyme Green Ribbon for Lyme Disease Awareness !!!
