They say it takes a village and Maynard has been that village.
Allie grew up at my flower shop. This weekend as I watch her walk the stage to receive her Juris Doctorate from Suffolk Law School, my heart is so full and so thankful.
I never could have done this alone. For my family with their never ending love and support. For the ladies who stopped in at the shop when she was an infant to take her for a walk around town. When she was a toddler to see if they could feed her for me. For Monica who would rock her to sleep when I was busy. For Karen who tied her tap shoes and sat through so many dance classes. For Mark who sat in a lot of pick up lines at school to get her and drive her where she needed to be. For Don who took her to the Father/Daughter dances even though his own children were grown. For those who gave us so much support and love when she was diagnosed Type 1 diabetic. For all her friend’s moms who drove her and included her in activities that I could not make. For Dana whose unwavering support kept her grounded and help her persevere. For so many people who stopped in to see how she was doing during some very hard times. For all those who constantly cheered her on.
As Allie texted me on her last day of class “We made it!” Yes we did-with the help of a village known as Maynard ❤️
