We are so excited and honored to have Russell sharing his talent with stained glass design.

We will be learning: what is stained glass and how it originated, hands on instruction in how to cut glass, design a beautiful piece and have Russell work on the finishing touches!

Russell has been creating stained glass art for over 40 years. What began as a hobby with his best friend quickly became a lifelong passion. While his friend eventually moved on to other interests, Russell continued honing his craft and developing his unique artistic style. After meeting his wife, she encouraged him to turn his passion into a business, and together they founded Kelle K Glass. The business became a meaningful part of their lives, especially during his wife's illness, giving her something to look forward to each day. Following her passing, Russell considered stepping away from stained glass altogether. Instead, he chose to continue creating as a way to honor her memory and carry on the dream they built together. Today, Russell continues to create beautiful stained glass pieces, share his knowledge through workshops, and inspire others to explore the art form.

This June, we're celebrating creativity through nature with Nature's Canvas: art inspired by the natural world and created using carefully and responsibly sourced local materials. Participants are encouraged to explore the beauty of leaves, flowers, branches, stones, shells, seeds, and other natural treasures to create unique works of art. Please be mindful to source materials sustainably, respecting local ecosystems and leaving nature as beautiful as you found it.

You have from now until July 3rd to create a wonderful piece of art! On July 3rd, bring your item to The Creative Collective and it will be auctioned off to First Friday attendees (with the money going to a charity).
