Midjourney is opening its first spa in San Francisco — with full-body scanners built directly into the experience.
Planned for late 2027 at 300 Grant Avenue near Union Square, the roughly 25,000-square-foot space is being designed by Basalt Architects and will combine hot pools, saunas, cold plunges and relaxation areas with up to 10 whole-body ultrasound scanners.
Midjourney’s medical division is developing what it calls “Ultrasonic CT,” a radiation-free imaging system that uses ultrasound instead of X-rays or magnetic fields. The company’s long-term goal is to make whole-body scans fast enough to become part of a regular wellness visit.
Rather than placing the scanners in a clinical setting, the design turns them into cylindrical architectural elements surrounded by water, stone, light and sound.
