A pretty lamp is one thing… but the right lamp can completely change a room. 🤍
When I’m looking at lighting, I’m thinking about more than just the style. Scale matters, height matters, and so does the job that lamp needs to do. A larger lamp can help anchor a console or side table, while task lighting needs to actually give you the light you need for reading or working.

Lighting is one of those details that can be easy to choose based on looks alone, but getting the size, placement, and function right is what makes a room feel thoughtfully designed. And Dallas Market Center certainly isn’t lacking in beautiful options!

There’s always more to learn, and I never want to stop growing in the way I serve my clients. 🤍
I recently had the opportunity to attend Accelerated Designer training classes… taking time to learn, be challenged, and continue sharpening my skills as a designer.
Behind every beautiful space are a lot of decisions, details, and trust, and I want to keep becoming better equipped to guide my clients through all of it with confidence and care.
Grateful for the opportunity to keep learning and bring that knowledge back into the homes I’m trusted with.

Art is one of my favorite ways to make a room feel personal. It doesn’t have to perfectly match or follow a trend, it just needs to feel like you.
The right piece can bring color, character, history, or even a little unexpectedness into a space. That’s when a room starts to feel collected instead of simply decorated. 🤍

One of the easiest ways to make a room feel more pulled together? Make sure your rug is working with your furniture, not floating underneath it. 🤍

As a general rule, I like to either have all of the furniture legs sitting on the rug or, at minimum, the front legs of your sofa and chairs resting on it. This helps anchor the entire seating area and makes the room feel more connected and intentional.

And if your rug is only big enough for the coffee table? It might be time to size up! It’s such a simple detail, but getting the scale right can completely change the way a room feels.

A beautifully styled table doesn’t need a lot of stuff.
A few different textures, something organic, and a piece or two you genuinely love can make an everyday dining table feel warm and intentional without making it too precious to actually use.

Ashes to Beauty has always been more than a business name to me, but lately, it’s taken on an even deeper meaning.
Walking through a season of sorrow after losing my mom and a few other challenging situations has reminded me that God really does make beauty from our ashes. Not always in the way we expect, and certainly not on our timeline, but He is faithful to meet us in the hard places and bring something beautiful from what feels broken.
I’ve seen it in homes, in people, and now in my own life in a new way.

Sometimes we don’t get to see the beauty while we’re standing in the ashes. We just have to trust that God is still at work. 🤍

Hiring a designer isn’t just about making your home look beautiful.
Sometimes it’s about having someone come alongside you and really listen to how your family lives, what isn’t working, what you love, and how you want your home to feel. It’s having someone see the potential when you’re overwhelmed by the decisions, and help turn all of those scattered ideas into something that feels thoughtful, comfortable, and completely yours.

Your home holds so much of your life. The ordinary mornings, the people around your table, the celebrations, the hard seasons, and everything in between. It deserves to be a place that serves you well and feels good to come home to.
That’s the part of design I love most. 🤍

If you love bringing color, texture, and organic shapes into your home, plants are one of my favorite ways to do it. 🌿

Swipe to the end to see the fiddle leaf fig I bought six years ago, and today she’s a whopping 11 feet tall! Fiddle leaf figs can be surprisingly easy to care for once you figure out how much water and indoor light they need. At this point, she’s become such a major part of our living room that naturally… she needed a name. Meet Samantha. 😊

Proof that sometimes the best decor is the kind that grows right along with your home.
