Well, I think it’s safe to say our very first afternoon Atelier was a great success! 🌿🥂

I wasn’t entirely sure how I would feel about switching things up and hosting during the day, but I absolutely loved it.

The house was filled with sunshine, the sparkling c***r was flowing, moss was everywhere 😂, and this wonderful group spent the afternoon building some beautiful little landscapes.🌱🌿

There was a LOT of concentration happening around this table. 🤣 Terrariums were lifted, turned, inspected, reconsidered, adjusted…and then inspected again. Creating a tiny forest is very serious business! 🌿

But there was also plenty of laughing, conversation, good food and those little moments when someone would suddenly sit back, look at what they had made and realize, “Oh…I really like this!”

THAT never gets old for me.

And can we talk about how pretty an Atelier looks in all that natural afternoon light?! 😍 I may have taken approximately 400 pictures.

Thank you to this fantastic group for making our first afternoon Atelier such a fun one. You have all officially convinced me…

Afternoon Ateliers need to happen again. 💚🌿

Atelier prep is underway. 🌿

Rosemary brown-sugar glazed spiced nuts are roasted, cinnamon spiced bars with roasted pistachios are baked, vanilla bean cheesecake with salted caramel apple topping is coming together… and the moss is looking especially absolutely beautiful. 😉👌💚

Tomorrow, this all turns into an afternoon of good food, good company, and tiny forests. 🌿✨

We’re so happy to be donating a $150 Moss & Sprig Atelier gift certificate to the Hazel’s House Online Holiday Auction, happening November 12–17!

Hazel’s House does wonderful work caring for and finding homes for animals right here in Yamhill County, and we’re honored to contribute to an event that helps support that work. 🐾

One of my favorite things about our Ateliers is seeing everyone’s personality come through...not only in what they create, but in how they choose to show it afterward. 😂👌

Kelly, thank you for bringing this much joy to the table. This photo officially wins Best Picture of the Night and I don't think it was even close. 🏆🤣🤎

This is my favorite part. 🌿🤎

There’s a moment during every Moss & Sprig Atelier when the room gets a little quieter.

Everyone has settled in, the tools are scattered across the table, the moss is everywhere 😂, and six completely different little landscapes start taking shape.

Some people work slowly and thoughtfully. Some know exactly where everything is going. Some change their minds twelve times. 🤣 And some become VERY serious about proper moss placement. 🌿😉

But somehow, around one table, everyone finds their own rhythm.

This is what I hoped Moss & Sprig would feel like when we started...people gathered together, enjoying themselves, talking and laughing, getting completely absorbed in creating something with their own hands.

No rushing. No pressure to make yours look like anyone else’s. Just a few hours to slow down, make something beautiful, and enjoy being exactly where you are.

Looking around this table the other night, I thought...yep. This is it. This is exactly what I wanted. 🌿

Thank you to every person who has pulled up a chair at our table and trusted us with a little piece of their evening. You’re what makes these Ateliers so special. 🤎

A little behind the scenes at Moss & Sprig… 🌿

Before the moss hits the table and our guests arrive, there’s a whole lot happening in this kitchen. 🧈🧂🔪🥂

Apples are simmering, skewers are being assembled, sparkling c***r is chilling, infused water is steeping, boxes are being packed…and Rob is inevitably recruited for plating duty. 🫡🤣

We could absolutely make our Ateliers simpler. But honestly, this part is half the fun.

We want walking through our door to feel different from simply showing up for a class. We want you to settle in, have something delicious, sip something pretty, meet the people around you, and feel completely taken care of before we ever start building. 🌿

Because Moss & Sprig was never really meant to be just about making a terrarium.

It’s about the whole evening. The little details. The food. The table. The conversation. The creativity. And hopefully, for a few hours, forgetting everything else waiting for you outside the door. 🤎

The Atelier begins long before our guests arrive. 🌿

Sorting slate, crushed sandstone, and basalt...choosing just the right stones. Shaping and pairing pieces of weathered driftwood. Every little collection is prepared by hand before it ever reaches the table.

It’s one of my favorite parts of getting ready...the quiet little details that eventually become six completely different woodland worlds.

Same materials. Six imaginations. And somehow, no two terrariums ever look alike. 🌿🌱
