Yes, that's right we started this local Makers, Artists, and Collectors market in the middle of the pandemic. Thanks to the community support, we have grown from our small number of vendors (5) to what it has become today. Today we have vendors inside the pavilion as well as outside under the metal canopy. We've also brought back the Christmas show in 2021, which has been absent from this venue fo
r many years. In bringing back the Christmas show, we now host this show four times a year: Spring, Summer, Fall, and Christmas. We've also been blessed with our regular food vendors to serve you all with their delicious food creations. We're not done yet and working on other updates, which we'll announce as they become closer to reality. We have three events with this show all with the mindset for having a market for makers, artists, and collectors.
• The full three day show Friday through Sunday
• The Young Entrepreneur show: Saturday and/or Sunday
• The Popup Show: Saturday and/or Sunday
What do we mean by MAC? It was the nickname locals called McMinnville, OR and has evolved into another meaning and is an acronym for our market. M for makers, A for artists, C for collectors. When we first started this show, we had a long name that really didn't roll off the tongue. The initials of that long name is still part of our website "AVFE". Some names were already taken and long story short, we landed on The Mac Flea. The "Flea" in our prior name doesn’t mean our vendors carry low end products. It's the opposite actually. Our vendor community carry some incredible inventory and the exciting part is you never know what they're bringing to each show. Not that we were actually looking to change the name from MacFlea to MAC Marketplace. We were actually given the opportunity to change it again as the account that managed the old MacFlea page was unfortunately hacked. Thus we were given (more like required) to chance the name again. Hopefully the MAC Marketplace name will stick for some time. Without our fabulous MAC vendors, we cannot continue to bring this show. HUGE thanks to those vendors who've been with me from the beginning and for many of those who have become a long time vendor. I'm equally excited to see new vendors enter and become part of this show! Although the threat of COVID has subsided, feel free to continue wearing your masks to our events.
