Why did I decide to become an Interior Designer, anyway? 🤔

Great question.

Here are my two big reasons!

1. I love to flip and idea on its heel and make it totally unique for each person. I’ve never been about a cookie cutter design style, but more about how a style can be the most authentic reflection of the person living in that space. I enjoy making what YOU like a reality.

2. I never wanted to be the reason why someone couldn’t do a remodel. Having done many myself, I know how expensive and stressful they can be. That’s why I am committed to doing my best to price my services as fairly as possible so that your dream space can actually be attainable!

SWIPE TO SEE THE BEFORE! 🤯

We looked for the perfect home for a few years and had very specific requirements for the house:

1. Close to town
2. Access to Mac Water and Light
3. 5+ acres of flat usable land
4. One level basement footprint of the house

When we first found this fixer-upper, it was WAY over our budget…but we just knew it was meant for our family.

We took a big leap and offered way less than asking.

I even wrote a love letter to the seller explaining what this house would mean to our family and how we wanted to raise our babies playing outside and exploring.

Somehow…WE GOT IT!

And so the designing began…!

How in the world do you arrange your pillows?!

I get this asked a lot.

I’m a sucker for a good pillow, especially if I have the perfect space in mind. Here are some super simple tips for arranging your own pile of pillows…

Put the larger pillows in the corners.
Layer in with smaller ones.

Lately, I’ve loved doing small lumbar pillows in front of each back cushion for a clean, modern look!

Let’s talk rugs.

I’m a sucker for a good rug, especially if it’s vintage and will hold up well! is my go-to rug shop. I love that each piece of hers is different, not to mention they are the most DURABLE rugs ever (3 kiddos, two dogs, and a rabbit over here…). I also admire how Tabitha, the woman behind this amazing business, also takes such great care to only sell rugs that are in tip-top condition. Make sure to give her a follow so that you can witness the beauty (and quality) for yourself!

*Pictured: I purchased this beauty, the Dawson Rug, back in 2019 for a special space and it’s still holding up so nicely!

One of my favorite parts of the design process is drafting up the plans of a space.

After the girls go to bed, you’ll often find me fine-tuning a floor plan (or two) for my next project. It’s oddly calming and inspiring to me!

This is the first step with any design job that I take on. From there, I carefully create elevations that will bring ideas to life with a visual for you to see before the project begins.

After you have approved all drawings and layouts, next comes the messy part…the demo phase!
