Good Morning I have Covid and feel as horrible as I have ever felt....And I am unable to go and see the amazing 91 year old Willie Nelson at the Britt Festival tonite.... my friend Sharon shared this morning of a video on Youtube that films people who were born colorblind seeing brite colors for the first time... it is a very moving video and reminds me how lucky I am ... I live in a free country and I have healthcare...thank you Medicare.... Be Humble Be Grateful and listen to good music

Today I stopped at a local grocery store on my way home. I have gotten to know the manager of the store after shopping there for a number of years. Lines were long and shoppers were frustrated and he jumped in and opened another register and invited me up. While checking my groceries I complimented him on his great helpful friendly staff. In chats with other checkers they have commented they like there job, which has a great group of managers.... kudos to my friend. I talked of my recent retirement and my intention to file for Social Security. He told me he had an employee in the store whose parents immigrated here years ago, and both worked until 70 paying into their Social Security accounts. They son encouraged them to file for SS payments. They have chosen not to file because they said this country had already given them so much with the opportunity of a better life. The next time you hear someone speak badly of immigrant peoples, think of the story and maybe share it. Justice Fairness Kindness its thats easy.

Hello friends of Coleman Creek Collectibles...I have really been excited about the beginning of this season and making lots of new friends....The weather makes it difficult to open... so I wont be open tomorrow but you can text me at 973-7288 and set up an appointment to check out vinyl records..... And yes it is true I bumped into a collection of near a HALF MILLION records..... so I am working hard at bringing these wonderful recordings to the store..... It is going to be a beautiful day today and I invite you to come down and visit Coleman Creek Collectibles. This is the fourth Saturday in a row I have been open and its just fun. The people I meet are wonderful and they all have great stories to tell. Two weeks ago I chatted with a woman who lives in S. Oregon and her dad was a stunt double for John Wayne in a bunch of movies and she shared how nice it was to be able to watch her dad in the movies, because he has passed away. We have this beautiful creative steampunk folk art piece of a steam engine created out of recycled metal pieces of flashlights, thimbles, keys, piano hinges (those are the parts people have been able to identify)... We have a little bit of everything.....from collectible to eclectic to just plain odd. Well Good Morning I am very excited as the store will be open today for the first time since before Thanksgiving....due to wet weather, and lifes challenges. But today the clouds have cleared and I am ready. Coleman Creek Collectibles is a passion and life force for me combining recycling, history and community. I love my store. Finding new homes for fun treasures of the past, great people interaction, human creativity and redirecting items that have not lost their use. Recycle Repurpose Reuse Mama Earth needs our help. Wonderful Collectibles, some antiques, books, toys, music vinyl ---great songs new and old and gently used items looking for their next purpose and home.

Well I am sorry I have not posted in awhile, I have been caring for a friend who passed away this week. Ernie Caswell was a special man who was kind to all in his short 88 years among is and I will remember him for his humor, kindness and grace.

CCC will be open this Saturday from about 9 to about 330 (Oregon Duck game to watch) and if you are looking for stuff for your Halloween get-up , come on down and check out all the fun costume items including new costumes like Mistress of Midnight ..Sultry Devil...Patriotic Cheerleader...
