Central Art has been a family tradition of ours for two generations now. You see, we started off with a rack of paints and a rack of brushes. But over the years, we’ve added all sorts of supplies to our shelves. We’ve grown our team to include creatives of all types that can answer any questions you might have. And our store is full of people who want to hear about your latest project. We’ll even

frame it for you once you’re finished! While we did come from small beginnings, we’ve grown into a community gathering place where artists can come together under one roof and express themselves.

Are you ready to move beyond simply copying the colors you see and begin painting with greater passion and intention? Do you want to create a palette that feels powerful, cohesive, and uniquely yours?

Explore the colors that truly resonate with you and learn practical strategies for using color to communicate your vision with confidence.

This workshop will focus on the landscape, but other subjects are welcome. *Suitable for students with some experience in pastels.

*3RD FRIDAY ALERT* - Central Art Gallery announces its September SOSA (Southern Oregon Society of Artists) group art exhibition.

3rd Friday reception will be from 5-8pm on September 18. Central Art Gallery is located in downtown Medford at 101 N. Central.

Fri. 9/18 5-8pm – Art Walk reception

The show will be up until 10/10/26. Art Exhibit will be available for viewing Mon-Fri 10-5:30/Sat 10-4:30 (Gallery hours), except during classes.

In honor of country music legend and humanitarian Dolly Parton, the Roseburg Public Library is launching a Fall program celebrating early literacy for all Oregon children from birth to age 5 through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library!

Through Dolly’s program and with the support of Roseburg’s Friends of the Library, each child from birth-5 years is eligible to receive a free book mailed every month to their home.

Central Art Roseburg is proud to participate along with other local businesses for the month of September! From September 22-26, we are welcoming families to visit our store and snap a picture with the library’s cardboard Dolly.

Along with the cardboard Dolly, the library will supply a QR code where parents can scan and register their young children for the Imagination Library program.

Tag Roseburg Public Library in your Facebook or Instagram post of your photo with Dolly, and you’ll be entered to win some Dolly swag in a random drawing! For privacy concerns, Dolly faces on popsicle sticks will be available as an option to cover faces or you can bring your favorite book as a mask!

*NEW CLASS* - Special Live Portrait Drawing & Painting Sessions
**2 Saturdays ONLY!**
Instructor: Cheryl Magellen
Dates: September 26 & October 24
Time: 10am-12pm
Location: Central Art (MEDFORD)
Max capacity: 6 participants
For two special sessions this fall, artists will have the opportunity to work directly from a live portrait model while receiving guided instruction throughout the class.

These sessions will focus on observing the structure of the head, accurate proportions, placement of the features, value relationships, and the planes that create three-dimensional form. Painters may also explore color relationships, edges, and simplifying the portrait into strong, readable shapes.

Artists may work in drawing or painting media and approach the session at their own level of experience.
