There is a quiet kind of romance in a curve. The oval and the round have graced fine homes for generations, and in our New Traditional collection they are given room to breathe in the way we live today. Look closely and you’ll find gilded diamonds set against deep black, golden ties crossed like ribbon around a reeded frame, and rings of gilded spheres circling convex glass that gathers the whole room into one soft reflection. Each piece is still shaped and gilded by artisan hands, finished with the same care that has guided Friedman Brothers since 1903, and made to be lived with for a very long time.

Proud, once again, to complete a project for Four Seasons — this time inside the newly reimagined Hotel Danieli in Venice.
Our team crafted over 70 custom mirrors for the property, each handcrafted using the same techniques Friedman Brothers has built its name on for over a century — wood frames, many finished in hand-applied gilding.
The install brought its own challenge: frames set directly over glass, demanding a precise, seamless fit. In the guest bathrooms, anti-fog panels kept the finish as functional as it is beautiful.
From centuries-old Venetian palazzos to modern interiors worldwide, our frames rise to meet any vision.

Compo. Paint. Gold, leaf by leaf. This is The Royal Knightsbridge, start to finish. Every ornament is hand-applied before it’s ever painted, every layer of gilt is laid on by hand — no shortcuts, no shortcuts through 120 years of doing it this way. This is what “handcrafted” actually looks like from the inside.
