When you buy fancy steel from Japan, you make fancy knives with it. This is a Gyuto and Nakiri set made from Hitachi Super Blue #2 core and stainless jacket with a pure nickel shim. Desert Ironwood and African Blackwood rounding out the handles. A surprising amount of work went into these but, they look even better in person.
