There are milestones on every project — but this one always hits differently.
Insulation. Sheetrock. Walls getting closed.
It’s insane to think about what it takes just to get to this point.
Thousands of questions answered. Hundreds of people involved. Teams of craftsmen. Challenges, adversity, compromise, problem solving, coordination and innovation — all leading up to the moment when so much of that work gets covered up, hopefully for the rest of time.
And on a generational home, I’d argue that everything behind those walls is some of the most important work we’ll do.
Now the project changes.
The finishes start coming together. The details we’ve been planning for months begin to show themselves. The spaces start to develop their character and eventually become the backdrop for family, friends, entertaining and everyday life.
But before we race into that next chapter, this milestone deserves a minute.
A chance to look back at everything it took to get here, appreciate the incredible teams that made it happen, and raise a glass to what’s ahead.
Skol to closing up the walls — and opening up the next chapter.
Can’t wait to show you what’s about to happen inside this house.
