prairie passage found its way onto the shelves like a thief in the night ;)
for starters, this collection is far from precious.
it was inspired by expansive skies, long stretches of road, weathered towns, worn things and tall grass bending and swaying in the wind. the unexpected beauty found in places that are rugged, resilient, and often overlooked.
as i researched this collection, i found myself drawn not only to the land, but to the women who crossed it. the miles they traveled. the letters they wrote home. the lives they built with uncertainty for the future.
prairie passage is a reflection of that life. softness and strength. beauty and hardship. the ability to keep moving forward while still noticing what blooms along the way.
nopal, ch. 39
an unexpected bloom in a harsh environment.
lowlands, ch. 40
wide open skies and everything that lives beneath them.
saddle, ch. 41
leather that becomes an heirloom. weathered, familiar, and impossible to replace.
trading post, ch. 42
a place for sending, receiving, and living without the rush.
i’ve collected far too many notes, photographs, references, and observations to keep to myself.
over the coming weeks, i’ll be sharing pages from the manuscript and some of the stories that helped shape this collection.
for a glimpse behind the collection, head over to stories.
the road is open.
