✨ Five Years Ago, Rustic Rehabs Was Just a Dream. ✨
Six years ago, I picked up a paintbrush to escape the stress of my 25-year corporate IT career. What started as a creative outlet in my dusty old garage quickly became something more. Every piece I painted brought a little joy back into my life, and I started dreaming about what it would be like to help others feel that same sense of accomplishment.
Then in 2020, life made the decision for me.
I was unexpectedly downsized from the job I thought I’d retire from.
I cried. A lot.
Some tears were pure terror. After all, I was walking away from a steady paycheck, great benefits, and a matching 401(k). But mixed in with those tears was something else… relief. Hope. Excitement.
Because deep down, I knew that job had been slowly draining my joy, and I finally had the chance to chase a dream I’d been carrying around for years.
So I took a leap. These pics are from our first shop 125 sq ft of creativity!!
This weekend, we’re celebrating 5 YEARS of Rustic Rehabs. 🎉
There have been plenty of moments since then that brought me right back to those terrified tears. Floods. Supply shortages. Long days. Tight budgets. Sleepless nights. Being your own boss isn’t always glamorous.
But helping people transform their homes, learn a new skill, discover their creativity, and leave feeling proud of something they made?
That never gets old.
Not even for a second. ❤️
This little shop exists because of YOU.
Every purchase, every class, every share, every comment, every hug, every “I just stopped in to see what’s new” has helped keep this dream alive.
