Day 2 of prep done right… and still no paint 🎨

It’s tempting to rush this part, but solid prep is what separates a quick flip from a flawless finish. Taking extra time now might feel slow, but it saves HOURS later—no rework, no touch-ups, just a clean, professional result.

Prep is where the quality comes from — don’t rush it.

Here’s how I spent approximately 2.5 hours prepping this commissioned piece for a repeat customer 👇 Part 2 coming tomorrow…

1) Remove all hardware, doors, and drawers
2) Store hardware in a baggie (save yourself the headache later)
3) Clean the piece — I was able to get away with just wiping down
4) Cover anything you don’t want covered in dust (future you will thank you)
5) Number your drawers to keep everything in order
6) FINALLY - Sand the entire piece
7) Clean it again
8) Clean your workspace — an area free of debris is crucial
9) Detail sand the spots your sander missed
10) Clean AGAIN (yes, again 😅)
11) Start spraying your hardware early to allow proper curing (I’m matching these to gold k***s ✨)
