This particular Walnut Tree was harvested from our property in Merrill Michigan. This tree was approximately 115 years old. Felling the tree & cutting the boards I substituted vegetable oil instead of using bar and chain lubricant. Custom cutting each piece to size. It then takes 1 year for the boards to season. After a year of seasoning I plain them down, hand sand starting with a 60 grit working my way to 320. I then apply Food Grade Butcher Block. Dry, sand apply repeating the process 3 more times.
