How to use PVC for dust collection safely.
Many people stay away from PVC for dust collection due to its static properties. I’ve found a way to not just use PVC but also use it safely while eliminating almost 100 percent of the static charge that is created whilst using PVC. I went a little overboard on this set up but safety is very important to me. I’ve used a 25’ 8 gauge solid copper wire that is ran internally through the main 10’x4” PVC between the integrated blast gates. This copper wire is then wrapped around the motor where I’ve sanded bare metal to ensure a sufficient ground contact. Through the motor casing.
