I spent this whole reel dragging thick mitered countertops
just to admit I used one recently lol
But that’s the thing with design rules:
a good edge = proportion + material + context
Thin profiles usually let the stone feel more natural and intentional
especially in kitchens
Once the buildup starts getting chunky underneath an island
it can feel visually heavy really fast
BUT
sometimes a thicker edge actually solves a problem
like adding height or balancing scale
…there are always exceptions 🙌
