I originally created this little keepsake box after losing my Gunner. I wanted somewhere special to keep a lock of his fur , something beautiful enough to leave out with his other keepsakes.

I shared it with you, and then something really special happened.

You started giving me ideas for all the other little moments in life worth holding onto.

Your baby’s first haircut.
Those tiny first teeth.
A lock of fur from a beloved pet.
And memories that are completely unique to your own story.

And just like that, one little box created for Gunner became an entire collection of Lock of Love keepsakes.

I think that might be my favorite part of creating things for Queen B Home - sometimes an idea starts with something personal to me, and then you help me turn it into something that can mean something to someone else too 🤍

Have you started pulling out your Halloween decor? I know, it’s only August, but I love to start sifting through what I have, deciding what I want to keep, what I might want to replace, and donating anything I no longer love.

I’m definitely not a Halloween threw up all over my house kind of decorator. LOL. I’d rather have fewer pieces that I really love and can pull out year after year. I usually start with a few timeless, good-quality staples and then change things up with smaller accents, candles, pumpkins, greenery and, of course, signs.

My little decorating tip: instead of trying to fill every empty space, create a few Halloween “moments” throughout your home. A mantel, an entry table, a kitchen shelf… even swapping one piece of everyday artwork for something seasonal can completely change the feel of a room without having to redecorate the whole house 🤗

When I created the collar holder sign, it was for my own best friend, Harvey, who many of you came to know and love.

Harvey was my first dog, my first love and when he passed away, the thought of life without him crushed me to my core. The days after were unbearable and the thought of moving anything that was his felt completely wrong.

All I was left with, was his precious collar. The familiar jingle of the tags. The jingle that our other dogs recognized and the shooting pains in my heart I felt at that sound made it honestly hard to breathe.

For a long time his collar sat on a counter, in a drawer, and I hated that I had no where to display this one physical thing I had that reminded me of him.

The collar holder sign was born from this yearning to have him close by, in sight, and proudly displayed. His collar was worth more than a dark drawer, and now, more than 2200 of you also have a resting place for your best friends collar.

As a dog mom and dog lover, I share with you the grief that you feel in the unimaginable loss, and feel so honored to be able to create a piece for you that you will cherish forever ❤️🐾
