SOLD Repurposed Sewing Machine Table
$125

Repurposed antique Jordan Marsh Co sewing machine table base with reclaimed wood top from the Commercial Square Decor workshop. Top could be refinished or left as is. We've used this for several purposes over the years - as a table for my modern sewing machine, for plants, and more recently in our dining room as a spare table. However, since moving into our new-old home we just can't make it work well in the space. Please note that the table is heavy, so a second person is recommended for pickup. Local area delivery can be arrange for an additional fee.
Measurements are as follows: 40" w x 20.25" d x 29" h

Starting to bring order out of chaos (trying to anyway)

I like to share the history of pieces I am working on.

I made this table when I was in the 8th or 9th grade, which makes it about 45 years old. It is made from oak, and I turned it on a lathe. It was originally finished with polly. I used it for several years and then it ended up in the attic of my parent’s home.

I found it while cleaning out their house after my father had died. I moved it to the attic of my barn until a few months ago when I brought it down. It sat in a corner, taunting me waiting for me to find time to clean it up.

Today was the day she came to the head of the queue. She needed good cleaning and some sanding after which I applied 3 coats of a spray on shellac.

I think it came out pretty good.

This old girl came into the shop today. Based on the construction, I would say she is well over 100 years old.

She is going to spend some time in the sun drying out. She has a few other projects in the queue before I get to her.

I think we will just clean her up and fix what’s broken.
