This little katydid has been hanging out with me in my studio since last night. I think it got in thru a space where I have a window fan and maybe can’t find its way out. I wish it would sing for me. I need to help it find its way out or leave some grass and water. Somehow, reading that it’s a katydid reminds me of childhood. If it’s green, I usually call them grasshoppers (except for praying mantis which are easily identifiable). It’s been a long time since hearing the word “katydid.”
