The idea for Kiwi Lane started while we found ourselves complaining to each other that most of the samples that we found in magazines and online from "designers" were for one-picture, one-page layouts and depended heavily on expensive embellishments and a long supplies list to accomplish their look. Although the pages were beautiful, recreating them was hard on our budget, and we preferred the option to design two-page layouts so that we could fit more photos and tell a complete story with each page we created. This frustration led us to develop a new style of scrapbooking that provided endless inspiration and simplified the process. It changed how we scrapbooked, allowing us to add as many pictures as we wanted and still end up with a beautiful, balanced, professional layout every time. Because this method takes advantage of the gorgeous prints and patterns in our paper stashes, we could also create stunning pages without spending a small fortune on traditional embellishments. As scrapbookers ourselves, this new technique solved all of our concerns, and we fell in love with scrapbooking all over again! I loved the autumn leaves printed on this paper, so I cut them out and arranged them around this ring I drew with my white gel pen. 🍂🤍

It was actually kind of meditative! Maybe a little tedious to some, but I think the end result made it completely worth it. ✂️✨

I’ll say it again: there is no ONE way to use a Designer Template. ✂️✨

Sometimes, you don’t even have to cut it out.

In this layout, we simply used the template as a guide and traced the shape with a pen to add a fun little detail to the page. Such a simple technique, but it gives the layout a completely different look!

The templates give you a starting point, but what you do with them is completely up to you.

Trace them. Cut them. Layer them. Flip them. Use the whole thing or just a piece of it. There are so many ways to play. 💛

Scrapbooking organization doesn’t have to mean having the perfect craft room. ✂️✨ The goal is simply to make it easier to sit down and CREATE.

Here are 3 practical things that can help:

1. Keep your most-used supplies within reach.
Scissors, adhesive, ink, Designer Templates—whatever you reach for every time you scrapbook. The fewer things you have to hunt down, the easier it is to get started.

2. Pre-make your own paper kits.
Go through the stash you already have and group coordinating papers together ahead of time. You can even add a few matching embellishments or photos. Then when you’re ready to scrapbook, you’ve already eliminated one of the biggest decisions: *What paper should I use?*

3. Give unfinished projects a home.
Use a tray, bin, or folder for layouts you’re currently working on so you don’t have to completely clean up and start from scratch every time.

Your organization system doesn’t have to be perfect. It just needs to remove a few decisions and make it easier to get back to creating. 💛
